Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!

Well I was telling my kiddos today all about Dr. Seuss's birthday and they decided they wanted to get him a present. When I explained to them that he lives in Heaven now so we can't get a present too him they wanted to go to Heaven to get him and bring him back here to go to his birthday party, picking up his present on the way of course.

Well Dr. Seuss, I'm sorry we can't bring you here from Heaven to enjoy your party, but DD and Nephew sure had a ton of fun eating your food!

Clockwise from top left:

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish (colored goldfish crackers)
The ever popular Cat in the Hat skewer (strawberries and bananas)
Schlott's Knots (pretzel knots)
Roast Beast (rolled up roast beef slice)
The Cat, without his hat (provolone slice)
Noodles for Poodles (mostacholi noodles)
Pink Ink Yink Drink (Raspberry Lemonade)

DD's Plate

Nephew's Plate

In honor of The Lorax (in theatres today....shameless plugging!) I made cotton candy trees, with Redvine trunks and Peach-Os for the base, which go up pretty high to make them stand up.

They had to eat their muffin tin meal before they could have the dessert trees. So naturally the scarfed it!

The hardest part was drawing the cat, because let's face it, I'm no artist. Plus it didn't help that my BRAND NEW (and I mean just bought less than an hour before using it today) black food pen decided to stop working halfway through Nephew's cat, so his had to have a little more color than DD's. She didn't mind though.

Super excited to see The Lorax this weekend. Here's to SOLSC day 2! Happy blogging!

  2. Looks like the kiddos had a blast chowing down. Very crafty idea and a great way to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.
